Dr. Stephanie Coates graduated from Purdue University School of Veterinary medicine in 2004, specializing in large animal surgery and medicine. Furthermore, she received scholarships and awards for her proficiency in large animal medicine from Purdue University.
Dr. Coates was an associate veterinarian in a mixed animal practice for three years before directing a veterinary technician program in Fort Wayne. In 2008, she opened Premier Veterinary Services specializing in ambulatory and field services for all large animals. Today, Dr. Coates and Premier Veterinary Services specialize and focus on natural healing with WHOLE animal and BALANCED animal health and wellness by integrating eastern (holistic) and western medicine for both large and small animals.
Dr. Coates is IVCA (International Veterinary Chiropractic Association) certified in mixed animal chiropractic care. She is also certified in mixed animal acupuncture, tui-na (Chinese acupressure massage), Food Therapy, and Chinese Herbology through the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. By having these four certifications through the Chi Institute, Dr. Coates is considered a Certified TCVM Practitioner (CTCVMP). She is the ONLY Veterinarian in the State of Indiana to have acquired this level of expertise and ONE of a few in the entire NATION!!
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Coates is in pursuit of her Masters degree in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM). This degree, which will take approximately three years to complete, will certify her in all five aspects of Traditional Chinese Medicine and allow her to become and expert as a TCVM practitioner.
Dr. Coates has completed and received her Holistic Nutritional Consultant Certification which allows her to work with animal OWNERS to identify and help correct the nutritional causes of diseases, and design personalized diet and lifestyle programs that optimize health (for humans).
Dr. Coates lives on her farm with her two dogs, six chickens and two horses. She loves to compete in team roping and speed events with her beloved horse Jim-Bob.
