Dr. Stephanie Coates

Dr. Stephanie Coates graduated from Purdue University School of Veterinary medicine in 2004, specializing in large animal surgery and medicine.  Furthermore, she received scholarships and awards for her proficiency in large animal medicine from Purdue University.

Dr. Coates was an associate veterinarian in a mixed animal practice for three years before directing a veterinary technician program in Fort Wayne. In 2008, she opened Premier Veterinary Services specializing in ambulatory and field services for all large animals.  Over time, Dr. Coates and the direction of Premier Veterinary Services began placing more emphasis on natural healing with WHOLE animal and BALANCED animal health and wellness. Today, the clinic is referred to as Premier Veterinary Services: Wholistic Animal Health and Rehabilitation.

Dr. Coates was able to take a sabbatical year in 2016-2017 to work in New Zealand as an integrated veterinarian alongside the top New Zealand Equine doctors. This role gave her the opportunity to work with a range of horses and people that ride for pleasure to high level performance like the Olympians and Race Track clients.

Dr. Coates is IVCA (International Veterinary Chiropractic Association) certified in mixed animal chiropractic care. She is also certified in mixed animal acupuncture, tui-na (Chinese acupressure massage), Food Therapy, and Chinese Herbology through the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. By having these four certifications through the Chi Institute, Dr. Coates is considered a Certified TCVM Practitioner (CTCVMP). She is the ONLY Veterinarian in the State of Indiana to have acquired this level of expertise and ONE of a few in the entire country! ! Dr. Coates is a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP) through the University of Tennessee. The combination of all these certifications under one roof has allowed for a comprehensive approach to each patient that walks through our doors.

Dr. Coates lives on her farm with her two dogs, too many cats and chickens and retired horses. She is passionate about enjoying life every day, and prioritizing happiness above all else.
